If you currently have a Florida Driver's License, the DMV is authorized to sell your personal information:
Name, Date of Birth, Phone Number, Address, SSN, Medical Disabilities, etc...

Go to http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us and click on ONLINE DRIVER LICENSE CHECK to verify if your driver's license is valid - once it verifies that your license is valid or not it will let you know whether or not your license is blocked and it will give you the opportunity to block it at that time by following the instructions.

what exactly did i just do though? i prevented anyone who has my drivers license # from finding out personal info- did I just stop a cop from doing a back ground check on me on the road... neil is this a scam? =)

I just went to the DMV to get my liscence renewed and i thought it was funny when they asked me that, so i told them no i wanted it to be kept private...
