my friend blew his valves due to misshift. I have a spare engine from a misshift. can he use the valves that are in my spare?

Can we remove the head without removing the chain cover?

You can switch valves with any GT-S if it's just the intake valves are busted, but if it's the exhaust valves, then you can only swap between 00-02 and 03-05 (different sizes). And yes, you need to remove the timing chain cover to remove the head.

both engines are 00-02. are there any diffrences between intake and exhaust valves (yr00-02)?

Make sure when you take the valves out of the head that will be going back on the car that you use a flashlight to carefully inspect the valve guides for cracks - sometimes when the valves get bent they crack the guides and the guides will need to be replaced. Also remember that since you are using used valves its a good idea to lap them in to the head.
