Uplug the positive terminal (red) of your battery for at least 10min. Start the car and let it run to re-calibrate for another 10 min.

This is only what I've heard and is not set in stone.

Your Celica will start flashing "GAME OVER" in the clock and on the stereo display.

You will then need to insert 2 quarters in the tape deck to start her up again.

Its back to normal CEL is off. I disconnected the + from the battery for 1-2 hours (I was at work any way). I also pulled those EFI fuses. Either one must of did the trick.<IMG SRC="http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smilies/cwm4.gif" border=0>

Had the dealer reset my ecu b/c of CEL. However, it came back on 2 wks later. I was talking to Claire from RMM and he was telling me how we our ecu has long term and short term memory. So once the CEL goes off once, its stored in long term. Thus, it will be very sensitive and it is very easy for it to be set off again. When dealers clear the ecu through the hand-held scanner it only deletes the short term. However, disconnecting the fuses or disconnecting the battery will reset the long term. Can someone verify this is all correct?

all of that is correct. the only problem is the ecu has to re-learn all info for all driving conditions that it has learned. It has to relaern how much fuel trim for all situations, part throttle, different temps, load and all combinations of these items and more. so if it does not seem to idle right or lacks power give it a week it wiil come back. By the way what code was in the ecu?p0446,p0441,p0440 or what
