maybe because thats the rev limit.. and by the time ur reaction is to shift.. ur right at 8300 and u have no time to compensate for the time it takes to shift into 2nd or third..thus the bouncing off the rev limiter.. but if u start to shift at 8000rpm.. by the time it takes u to shift it will be timed right at 8300.. thus leading into a faster, smoother, shift with no bouncing off the rev limit.. :)
