So i have been looking for a new car for awhile. And recently I ran into a 02 celica gt its has 95k miles interior is dirty but was complete, small dent about baseball size on left fender,clear fading on spoiler, cracking paint on rear bumper.It drove good and steering was tight no weird noises.All in all it seems like a pretty good car but I'm worried about the engine after reading all the oil problems.I check the level and it was a tad low he said oil was changed about 500 miles ago. He wants 4000 which I think is fair considering the current market. But I'm curious how much it will cost to replace engine if it goes bad take into mind I'd have to take it to a shop. Are the engines hard to come across or in good condition.
Should I buy or not

Also considered 2zz swapping but just my biggest concern in cost and availability cant spend 3-4k on a car that is worth that much would rather just spend that extra money of a different car. What I estimated to swap to a 03+ 1zz is about 2300 for used about 100k engine.( assuming about 1300 for engine and 1000 labor) Just curious what other people have paid.

Your GT engine will never blow as long as you check your engine oil often and replace as needed....

Just quit your habit, fast food/lotto tickets/drinking/etc and it shouldn't add up lol
