Hey guys. Wanted to see if you could help me out for a moment. Here is what's going on. When ever I am completely stopped, my idle starts falling to around 800 rpm. Now the funny thing about this is that I can either turn my steering wheel or start pumping my brakes and my idle goes back up to 1500 where I have it set. Got any idea what might be happening??

first of all, how do you have your idle "set"

second, thats normal, the computer sees the pressure in the power steering and raises the RPM to support it.

You houldnt have your idle set that high. Manuals idle at 8-900 autos are a little lower. Clean your iac and throttle plate and back the set screw down.

I have the idle set with the idle screw.
That's NOT an idle screw. Its the throttle plate stop and also sets the duty cycle of the IACV. The IACV sets the idle.

+1 Put that screw back where you found it and clean your MAF with MAF cleaner - as well as check your air filter.
