Does anyone in the Chicago area own a spring compressor or know where i can rent one?
I am trying to save as much money as possible installing my new springs. My neighbor says that the rears are wasy to take out even without a compressor, but the fronts are a lot harder.
Thanks,
Dave

Auto Zone will let you borrow them for free, you just have to leave a deposit. The fronts are a lot easier than the back. Its a pain to get the back strut off and on. And you need atleast a second person to help with the backs and the bottom bolt holding the backs on hard to get off, I'd suggest a 1/2" breaker bar and someone strong.

Has your neighbor ever touched a Celica?

I've had the struts and springs off too many times to count on this car and I think others can attest ....

The back is definitely harder!
