Look, let me try a different approach.
If this guy was asking "What's faster, a Manual GT or an Automatic GT-S?" then yes, I'd agree he needs to search.
But the problem arises when people don't read the post and only the thread title. Clearly there's a slight variance in his question, with the fact that there's different mods.
Bottom line is that his question doesn't have a clear black and white answer, it could actually go either way, to a certain limit. From a stop, he has an advantage, but it comes down to driver.
Regardless of that, there's some new factors introduced to discuss, being the "racing" aspect.
All of that aside, this is a
discussion board for a reason. If you want to discuss something, then go for it. If you don't want to because it is an old topic, then don't post. Eventually the topic will die with 0 replies on its own.
If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem. And everyone complaining about "omg search" with no other contributing discussion points is part of the problem.
Is it just me with that view? Seriously it's not that complicated, but when everyone is replying "SEARCH" it makes them sound a) ignorant for not reading the topic and b) like a god damn whiny little kid who gets an ego boost when they point out the other kids in class that aren't following the rules.
Also this has nothing to do with defending n00bs because this applies to old users that post content without searching either, so your point is null and irrelevant. Also, this isn't OT, so it's further unrelated.
