Love this car, co and it's ceo Musk. Would loan the company millions if I had it.
Electric motors don't need any gears. They can spin at high revolutions. Makes gears or a gear superfluous. However the lower a motor spins the longer it lasts and the quieter it is. Standard info for r/c cars.

That 45 minute quick charge probably kills the batter life by years and, like other electric cars, will cost a buttload to replace batteries.
the new hot **** with electric cars is leasing the batteries

cuts about $15,000 off the purchase price - lease them for $100/month and never worry about that ****.

saw " My Ride Rules" yesterday and one of the guys had the Tesla Roadster it looked pretty awesome for a fully electric car, price as he said was 115000$ 0-60mph in 3.7s which is pretty bad ass, he also had a decal on it saying " Faster than a Ferrari and cleaner than a Prius" but for that price and only going like 300miles per charge tops its kind of meh...also he was saying the car batteries is something like 2000 laptop batteries combined and if he had any issues with the car he would call tesla company and everything was done via satellite. Warranty 3 years or 100k miles.

Elon Musk, CEO and founder of Tesla Motors, debuted his electric car company's first all-original car, the Model S, and announced that it "will build a high-performance version of the Model S that will go zero to 60 (mph) in 4.5 seconds. That's faster than a Porsche 911 Carrera."
Oh snap.

I think it is stupid in a way. Texting/being on the phone is bad enough, now you basically have a laptop sitting there that you can do anything with.
Yes anything. Unlimited, arrangeable, programable information of any kind on the dash. Basically a programable display of only the information you want and deem most important on your dash. Very intelligent and very useful.

:faint:

Did you not watch the video? They were streaming the internet and songs. People won't use this to see what their cars are doing, they will use it to stream the internet while driving. Texting and driving is bad enough, throw a ipad in front of someone on the dash and god knows what will happen

Useful for what? You should be driving not playing with your ipad. If you need any "useful" information almost anyone's phone can do that now. Pull over it and do it then not while you're driving.

Yes but it may only let you use the radio, battery life meter and other basic functions while you drive to keep distractions down. Like I said a lot of oem gps systems dont let you change destination or even enter an original one while you drive, you have to be at a stop. This may work the same, letting internet and downloading tasks available only while parked.

I hope for my sake. I don't feel like getting rear ended by some hippy who is downloading the latest green peace news while driving
