I have taken a lot of useful information from this forum and many have helped me along the way of repairing or giving advice on mods for my car.

It is about time that I contribute back to this awesome community of Celica's worldwide.

The problem in essence is the infamous Squeak\Squeal that you get from brake pads. In particular the new TRD brake pads that I have bought off A.k.a Rafa from the sponsors section. This tends to occur when you lightly tap the brakes coming to a stop.

These TRD brake pads come with their own supposedly anti-squeal shims on all pads. The problem that I have found though is that from factory, these anti-squeal shims seem to be pretty loose or the adhesives used to stick these to the brake pads weren't put together very well.

This though is not the problem or the source of the Squeak. Through experimentation I have redone my brakes at least 3 times just to identify or solve this problem. I have searched many topics and posts on this site and on the net just to solve this annoyance and with no outcome.

The first time I thought that my brakes weren't put on properly so I took everything out and then put it back together and in the process I used a type of anti brake squeal compound on the back of the shims. This however proved to be ineffective and the problem had still occurred.

The second time I removed only my front brakes because I thought this would have been the source of the problem. I found that the brake shims had lost the adhesiveness to the brake pad, so I removed the shims, sprayed the compound in between the shim and the pad and also another layer on the other side of the shim. This again did not work.

The solution I tried was just to take out the anti squeal shims altogether and spray the compound onto the brake pad. This solved all of my squeaking and no matter how hard or soft I brake, the noise is gone!!

Enjoy :)

I feel so honored to be the first comment. All of my hard work and dedication has paid off. Getting the top comment has been a dream of mine for many years and I would like to thank those who have helped me along the way. First and foremost I would like to thank god for giving me this opportunity. Next I would like to thank my parents. I want to thank my friend Christian Green, for being really skinny and always there for me. I would also like to thank my pet tadpole for surviving against all odds for over a week. Next I would like to thank the squirrel that lives in my backyard for climbing trees because that gives me inspiration that I need to get through the day. This is a special moment in my life and I would like to thank any of my unmentioned friends and family that have helped me along the way. This moment will be a moment that I will never forget. I just remembered a few other people I would like to thank...NewCELICA.org, Facebook, the fish I caught in the third grade, my light in my room because I wouldn't be able to see the keyboard without it, the internet for letting me go on NewCELICA.org/Facebook, my house because without it I would be homeless and last but not least, I would like to thank all the people out there that actually took time out of their day to read this. I cannot stress how much of a big deal this is to me. I have been trying to be the first comment on a post for years, but that has not been possible until this amazing day. Hopefully my good luck will continue, but this is undoubtedly a rare occasion. If you asked me how I did this, I would say, you can achieve anything u set your mind on. To all the kids out there reading this, I would like to tell them to follow their dreams. Being the top comment is amazing.

Thanks for posting your fix...

I just have to figure out what it is. I know nothing.
