I Have A 01 Gt With The Hass Kit & Pfc+datalogit
I Juss Got My Car Tuned Today And Everything Seems Fine
But When I Turn On The Blower Car Doenst Idle Steady
Juss Goin Up And Down
Did Anybody Had This Problem After Pfc?
I Gonna Try To Clean Out The Iac Valve Later On
But Juss Looking For Lil Help
AND ONE MORE THING..
DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO DO THE TURBO TIMER LIKE JUSS LET THE CAR RUN IDLE FEW MIN BEFORE YOU TURN IT OFF?
IM SAYING AS WHEN YOU DONT HAVE THE TURBO TIMER..

That's perfectly normal if the car was just tuned. The PFC hasn't learned yet how to handle the changes in load. You're supposed to go through the PFC learn idle process and it should be fine. It took my PFC a few runs before it was completely gone.
The only other thing that would cause it to do that if not is a bad tune in the rpm+load region that the PFC goes it when you turn on the fan (hence increasing the load).

As for the turbo timer; you only need one if you run the car hard, pull over and shut down right away. If you run hard, park and let it idle for a min or two, that should be enough to let the oil temp cool down.

oh and my boost spikes up to 11psi when it supposed to be at like 8.5psi
the tuner juss told me its the spring on the wastegate.. and you kno that turbo(gt28rs?) has a internal wastegate so.. is there anyway to lower the boost down?
im really not trying to blow my engine with 11 psi daily driving..

Wow, the software makes it all look so simple...
bahahah its far from simple..

I can't tell if you are sarcastic or not.

But if it were that easy I'd be one of the guy's making 110$/hr tuning in this dcm area

Oh yea, definatly sarcastic lol. I'm gonna read as much as I can on this stuff though, very interesting.

The first pic looks pretty straight forward, parameters for lift engagement, rev limit, ect. I'm gonna guess these are things people have changed who are running an untuned pfc?
And I have no idea what measurement the numbers in the grids represent and how to interpret how it relates to the a/f and timing. So much to learn

Oh yea Jesse's got so much damn stuff on there you could spend hours reading.. and many more hours trying to comprehend it all

Thanks, I never noticed that before :hides:
:faint:

On the original topic, do this:

1. THOROUGHLY clean your IAC. by this I mean remove the throttle body from the car, remove the IAC from the throttle body and thoroughly clean out the IAC. I used q-tips, solvent and some small picks to move the barrel valve around. The barrel valve should move freely and snap back into place if you move it. Spraying cleaner down into the IAC port will not do this.

2. Get the car up to full operating temperature and shut the car off.

3. Change the values in your INJ vs. WaterT and INJ vs. AirT to the ones in the following map:

htpp://users.ameritech.net/trdcelica/gregbasemap-1.zip

3. Read in your map, save it to the computer, then do the function that says "Initialize Power FC". You will need to cycle the key off and on. Then reload the map and start up the car. Let it idle for about 30 minutes that way.

4. During this time, turn O2 feedback off and mess with the active cells in the Base Map (with auto update turned on) to dial in your idle AFR. This is of course assuming you have a wideband.

5. Check your Idle A/E and Idle A/C values against your F/C A/E and F/C A/C values. if your car is surging at idle, it might be because your F/C (fuel cut recovery) values are too close to your idle values. Bring those up by 100 rpm at a time until the surging problem goes away.

oki so.. even if i do those its not gonna mess up the tuning set up?
im juss afraid of messing up some tuning set up since i have NO experience on any engine management system.. and dont even have a labtop..
btw i dont have the wideband 02 yet..

You have a Datalogit but no laptop? :wtf:

So yeah you're kind of screwed. And don't worry about messing up the tuning, I was only talking about a few cells at idle.

yeah.. gonna have to get one soon..
tuner was trying to mess with the idle values last night and it seems to go away so we turns the blower off and turn it back on, it starts doing that again so tuner was juss like.. "its strange" and we tried a few more times and finally it wasnt doin it
(i think he was messing with the somethin like voltage for injector and something else first and the idle values later) so i drove it home and i stopped at this one traffic light
it juss started doin it again.. oh and it seems like surging at idle too.. sounds something like there's a restriction on muffler..

The idle cells are a bitch to get smoothed out. It has taken me a few months between some tuning that Jesse and I have been working on (see the map he posted). It's become extremely stable not to mention the car pulls really hard for N/A. The PFC will still have to go through the learn process but you will get an idle that I must say is even better then stock.
You need to only modify the lower rpm idle cells and the first few load rows. Keep the rest of the map the way the tuner put it. Also, as Jesse suggested, modify the INJ vs. WaterT and INJ vs. AirT with what's on that map. After a few runs the PFC will learn it really well and it should be idling MUCH smoother.
