How do I adjust the valves on my car? I've done a few searches, but haven't found anything really usable. Do I just use the charts, and get the correct spacer? What about turning the crank to move the rockers around? The only valve adjustment I know is a '73 VW bug. The 2ZZ has no lock nut and adjuster screw...no swilfoot valve adjusters...:gap:

I looked some more, and found a good write up by Boosted2.0. However, there was some discussion about removing or not removing the rocker arm. Wouldn't you have to in order to put in the new shim? Also, is the valve cover gasket just that or is it FIPG or what?
