I live in the Las Vegas, Nevada area and would love to see, in person, how my Vibe GT stacks up against a Celica GT-S. The magazines put them a few 1/10ths apart, making it a drivers race... But as someone pointed out in another thread, you can't go by the mags.
So incase you haven't guessed yet, I'm looking for a Celica GT-S in the Las Vegas area... I've had the Vibe a few months and during this time have NEVER seen a GT-S in the Vegas area. I've seen a lot of the GT around, never lined up with one though... If any of you have a GT and think you'll spank my Vibe GT, that's fine too.
Perhaps a mini-meet at the LVMS Drag Strip? :headbang:

I'm sorry but the '03 Vibe GT is not a detuned GT-S in anyway... If the GT-S redlines at 8350 (as I've heard) than that is the only difference... The Vibe GT redlines at 8200... But should you take a Vibe GT that hits lift at 6200rpm and a Celica GT-S that hits lift at 6200rpm... From the launch all the way up to redline the engines will be producing the same power... Again I feel the need to point out that the Celica WILL FEEL FASTER and MORE POWERFUL all the way up but only because of the 300lb weight advantage over the Vibe.

One thing I don't understand... You say at the beginning of your last post that the Vibe GT "is a detuned version" but then go on to say that it never dropped in hp? So are you trying to say that from the beginning the Celica was actually RATED with more hp than the Vibe? I thought you already admitted they were both rated at 180hp at best.
hey. You dont read. I NEVER SAID the VIBE was a detuned GTS. EVER.

I said, twice. The XRS is a detuned 2zz.

XRS and the vibe are the same car besides styling and the xrs is 20lbs heavier
I am talking the COROLLA XRS ;)

It'll have to wait until we meet up at a drag-strip... Turns out we all misunderstood him and that he never wanted to race at the meet.
