It only takes a few minutes to vote, so you might as well do it whether you're pissed off or whether you think everything is going great.

I'm not a fan of lying politicians that will say anything for a vote, while trying to make the other guy look as much like a dirtbag as they can. I don't vote for that reason, like it or not. It's my choice. If anything I'd have voted for the independent guy here that says the same things I do, that the other guys are just lying politicians. But you know he'll get about .01% of the total votes. If he loses by 1 vote I will publicly apologize and vote in every future election.

Yes, it's your choice, it's a free country, or else we wouldn't be talking about elections. But your inaction affects people. Social security, healthcare, education, the military, AIDS, etc etc. Throwing up your hands and saying "ahh the political system sucks" doesn't help anyone. Yes, the system isn't perfect. But the candidates are generally not the same, and they will vote different ways on real issues. And those issues will affect people's lives.

I love election time, I get people pissed off when they ask me "Did you vote?", and I reply "no" and don't tell them the reason. I should wear a sticker on my shirt that says "I did not vote!"

Still not going on a full rant here, but just an observation:

The worst possible outcome of an election is to have a dead heat, like the one you linked to. Because that means the least possible amount of people are happy, and nearly 1/2 of the people are unhappy. If elections would be like 90% in favor of the winner, that would be great, since only a small amount of people would not have their choice as elected official.

Still not going on a full rant here, but just an observation:

I could care less about the Senator and Congressman races. They can kiss my ass. What I'm saying "fvcking VA" to is the ballot issues, some might disagree with me, but the marriage deal...wtf? Why is it necessary to ammend the consitution to say marriage is between a man and a woman and not recognize civil unions and domestic partnerships?

Cheap trick to get social conservatives to vote. Fortunately they are running out of states where they can pull this **** in.

At least the race is interesting...

Apparently ~57% of the virginia voters thought it was necessary. Then again, almost half of them voted for a racist Californian who pretends to be from Virginia, and wears a cowboy hat. He must have Virginia confused with Texas.
