as long as the part you install isn't the reason why something went wrong with your car you should be fine. The dealership will have to prove your engine/tranny had problems because of a part you put on. If you hydro-lock and they see a cold air intake you're pretty much fvcked 
Do what we all do, just put everything back to stock if you have any problems BEFORE you take it to the dealer to get fixed and make sure you reset your ecu- just disconnect your battery cable for about 10mins.
