I have a Celica GT with the alum alloy rims. I plan on purchasing winter tires for these rims, and I"m just wondering what the largest size tire I can fit on these rims without rubbing. For example, the stock size tire is 195/60/15. Would I be ok running a 195/65/15? If so, how much more ground clearance will I get??

The reason I'm doing this is so I can have a little more ground clearance in the winter, specially since I have a Kaminari kit. If anyone knows has any idea I'd really appreciate it.

225-75-15 will fit on the rim just fine, but might not fit in the wheel wells.

The 195/65-15 will fit just fine, a 205/60-15 will fit fine too.

Thanks for the reply autxr. I guess what I'm trying to find out is, what is the maximum size tire I can run on a 15 inch rim without the rim rubbing against the wheel wells?

I think I will go with the 195/65/15

If you plan on buying winter tires...don't go wide, you lose traction and it sucks in snow and on ice. I would go with 195/75/15 or 195/65/15.
