Anyone have any idea what that circle plate is? I put in a brand new suspension in the front with brand new strut mounts and that metal circle piece clunks. I can spin it and push on it but the passenger side is stiff as a board. Thanks!

The upper nut is loose maybe? Should be a big nut under that.

I cant figure out how you installed new struts without finding out what that thing covers

Probably whole units, like Quik Struts or Strut Plus.

I took it all apart and installed the new parts exactly the same. Under that piece is the strut mount and in the middle is the nut. Except passenger side doesnt move and that side moves. Previous to this the driver side did clunk but i thought with all new stuff it woulf disapear. It appears that this piece is what has caused the clunking from the beginning

You need to tighten the nut in the middle probably. You'll need to hold the shaft in the center and use a wrench to tighten it or have a shop do it for you.

That's the strut mount. There is a bearing in there that will sometimes come apart causing clunking.....new mounts are about 40$

Strut mounts are brand new and even with an airgun its tight as fark

Did that plate come with the new strut mount or did you transplant it from the old one? How is it held on if it will spin?

No i transferred the plate over. But i cant find another one anywhere

I own three 7th Gen Celicas and none of them have that plate in the strut mounts.
Maybe it does not belong there?

Plate? That's a rubber cap that pulls/peels off and reveals the top nut?

Nah not the rubber cap in the middle the metal plate with the holes in it.

So its possible they sold me a bad strut mount. Damn

The noisy plate looks like an adapter so the strut mount can be bolted up to a smaller diameter strut tower hole if necessary.
Or something.
