Alright as most of you know my car was recently hit and is now being fixed. My insurance company gives you money for the car being worth less since it was in an accident. I dont know how much Im going to get yet but Im guessing around $1,000. I was wondering what you guys thought I should get. Nitrous system? Or some external mods, like rims, hood, some thing like that. Or some thing I havent even thought of yet? Any suggestions would be appreciated, I have been looking at a lot of stuff lately. I really want an Invader CF hood but I dont know.

rims would be a good investment, they usually increase the resale value. just check out thethe top name brands if you do.

That's not too shabby of an insurance policy. I presume your car is stock though, right? I'd say wheels, it really changes the apperance, but if you go to 17" or above your car may look a little too high, but that's just my opinion. Other than that I'd say upgrade your suspension if you have enough, the Tokico spring and shock/strut combo is pretty affordable, although I think the lowest priced Tein is the way to go. This way it's for both looks and performance. If you have a bit left over get some tint and call it good. Nitrous is a waste.

The only thing my car has on it is a TRD body kit. Yeah I would like to lower it 2 inches and get some rims. Do you think its possible to lower it 2 inches and get a decent set of rims for $1,000? I might get more I dont know yet Im just guessing.

And my engine. Even with a 150 shot (if the engine could handle it) that gives you what.... 290HP on a 'stock' celica GT engine. Thats really sad considering the base line of some thing like a new mustang or a 350 is 300HP. Just makes you feel like nothing when you think about what it takes to make an engine able to hold that kind of pressure, then the kit and after its all installed. Then all you come out with is MAYBE being able to beat a newer car that always pushes out 300HP and you can hardly make it in short bursts. Makes me want to cry.

I know, its way over obvious that such a little ass engine couldnt handle a 150 shot. I was just adding how insane it is that even if the engine could handle it 150 shot still wouldnt put you up there with the type of cars that want to race these days any way.

well....if your getting 1000 bucks you should choose either rims or shocks/springs. If you try to get both you will cheap out and end up with heavy knockoff rims and spring/shocks that are good, but could be better.

I have the tokico hp's (blue tokico) and the tein stech springs...after 3 years of serving me pretty good these things are starting to wear out. I would reccomend these for the average daily driver, or the kyb AGX's just because they are adjustable. I dont know about the roads around where you live but around me they suck and the tokico's are fairly hard shocks so my panels just rattle when I hit decent sized bumps. Here recently the shocks in the rear have been squeaking under very cold conditions in the morning.

you should try to pick up tein s-techs, kyb agx's, and a set of hotchkis sways if the leftover cash allows. Save your rim purchase for another day, imo. PM bottle, he's with titan motorsports and usually has great deals on hotchkis stuff :). He may even have overstock on the other parts as well.

To be honest, I dont know exactly how much Im going to get. The money is to make up for the lost value of my car after being in an accident. My car is worth $12,000 according to the KBB right now. After being in this wreck I dont know what the value of the car will go down to? Any way my insurance company is going to cut my a check for that amount. It was a lot of heavy front end and side fender damage. I would think a wreck like this could drop the value of my car as much as $3,000 after its carfaxed? How would I find out how much its worth after the accident? I have a carfax on my car before it was wrecked I dont remember if there is a suggested retail value of the car? Plus my car has a full TRD body kit on it, I know that adds a little to the value since its considered the 'action package' or whatever.

ummmm no. You might get a decent set of knock off rims with tires, but they won't hold up as well as some higher end rims. I had Rota Subzeros for about 3-4 years if I'm guessing right, and they were pretty decent rims for about $1k in total with tires but 2 of the spokes ended up busting straight through on one of the rims. You definitely won't do any good on that budget for rims and lowering, and I wouldn't suggest just getting rims without lowering because it might just look silly. I say go with shocks and springs, that would be a good investment. Will improve looks and handling.
