I wanna replace my stock rear and front speakers. I went to Crutchfield and looked at what would fit but it was as much a help as I thought or what I was expecting. i wanna get some Sony Xplod's if possible. Any help would be great. i know it seems like a retarded and newbie question, but I don't know much when it comes to Audio yet. Also, would it be better to replace stock front speakers and get component speakers for the rear hatch speakers? Or would that even be possible I don't know...lol Thanks to anyone who is willing to deal with a simple question like this=)

When I look up what speakers will fit on Crutchfield, it comes up with like maybe 6 speakers all together that will fit in the different areas of the car (front, rear side panels, and rear hatch) When I look through all speakers, next to practically all of them it says will not fit my car.

Yeah, I went there too looking for options and came up with the same results. I think that the mounting holes in our car are not really of the generic type. I remember seeing pics of a guy installing new rear speakers and he had to make some baffles to make a 6 1/2" speaker fit properly. Just takes some good rigid wood and some screws. The front speakers didn't look too bad though, looks like you just gotta take off the brakets for the little mid-range driver and it would accept a direct replacement. Tweeters might need a little work if you get some larger higher quality ones. All-in-all it won't be too much work, but it probably won't be a plug-n'-play type of deal though.

the mid/woofer in the bottom part of the door are 6 1/2 and the speakers in the rear are also 6 1/2. There is no need to fabricate a baffle for the rear but you will have to drill out the rivets holding the rear speakers in.
