The biggest difference I see is the 5000 doesnt have remote start whereas the 791XV does, but I have a 6spd and wasnt gonna hook that up. I found the 5000 for $179.99 and the 791XV for 184.99 so price isnt a big factor. Which of the two is the better keyless entry and alarm system?

And is there anything I shoudl know abou them like hidden costs? I can do installation myself.

I got the 791xv with remote start and it is really good. I really dont know about the 5000 but you wont go wrong with the 791xv.

My bro has the 791XV. It's nice. It apparently has more features than the 5000. If it's only $5 more and is a higher model, go for it! Also purchased it on Amazon for $180. But yes, it's going to be discontinued (I don't know if there will be a replacement).
