news on circuit worx oil pump gear; they will be available shortly since they just made a batch for a celica race in asia. The new ones have been "redesigned" since the last run of production wasn't quite up to their spec (one of the reasons why they pulled it off the market).

is this easy to install?
Not necessarily. You have to remove the valve cover, passenger's side engine mount, alternator, powersteering pump, timing chain cover, and whatever else is around that area. There is also a long bolt that holds the belt tensioner assembly in place that requires you to jack the engine up slightly to clear the frame rails. Then you have to take apart the oil pump and swap gears.

Does this allow you to use the UR crank pulley saftley? And how much we looking at for this??

Boy, mine has worked fantastically for a long time.

Why? It will never blow up.

Debatable. I've been running a UR crank pulley for a long time, but I have one of the original ProDrive oil pumps. From my own personal experiences, it never caused mine to blow up, and even after spinning a rod bearing, the mains looked fine, but I did have much lower oil pressure than I do on my new engine with MWR rod and main bearings. Don't really know if clearance in the mains or rods was responsible for that, but the rod bearings were not in great shape and wouldn't have been affected by the UR pulley.

i'd definitley take one, whats the pricing?

We've had these on order since the beginning of time. I've checked back every now and then, never any updates. It's good to hear they'll be available again soon.

We'll probably keep running stock pumps in our shop car engines until one blows up because I'm stubborn.

I am tired of waiting. I am having a prototype cut next week. If it performs well I will have a run made and will KEEP inventory.... This is silly.

hi LilRocketSpyder,

you manage to get your proto out?

the reply i got from circuitworx is still no go. i'm actually doing a groupbuy on behalf of the guys in CelicaSG. we have 5 orders that's hanging in the air currently..

regards,

A few days ago, I blew my oil pump on WOT in 3rd gear lift. Had the UO Pullies for 40k miles now. I guess it was time.

Too bad I sold my Circuitworx pump to Caleb a while ago because it was such a pain to install. I'm down for a 'new' engine and upgrade oil pump while I'm at it.

What do new oil pump gears do for you? and why do you need new ones if you get the pully set?

thanks.
