OK so i've been doing some reading online, and the basic story is as follows:

Apparently some of the Celicas have a leak that causes water to pool up under the rear seats. First sign you wana look for is if your rear window is always fogged up when you goto your car in the morning thats the first simptom, second and more obvious simptom is when someone goes to seat on the back seat and their butt gets wet. By this point your rear seat cuchion has more than likely developed Mold on it and after a while it will cause your car to start smelling specially in the summer time.

This is the case with my car and the goal is to find the leak(s) and close them up i already have the new rear seat for replacement. On a personal note if i didnt have to put my kid's car seat in there i'd just leave the rear seat off.

Ok so now thqat the introduction is out of the way i'm going to get to the meat and potatos, the first time i noticed this i took apart a lot of the car just trying to figure out how to get the rear seat out, at the time i didnt have a manual so i had to guess my way around this, i thought the leak was from the bottom of the seat wells so once i got everything out i dried up the seat and sprayed it with chemicals in order to kill anything trying to grow in it, it didnt doit again for a while as far as i know but usually noone rides in the back.

Once the problem returned i begun to read as many posts as i could find online but most of them led to pointing a leak on the moon roof and my car does not have one.
but there is a seal in the wheel well area i will be taking pictures as i start to work on this, just waiting for warmer days.

.
mine stopped almost a yr ago, so i just replaced my seats with leather ones
That is one option :D
Don't think it really solved the problem, but at least it looks like it doesn't bother you.

Looks like a common problem, Friend of mine had it also, when we removed his rear seats and emptied his trunk, he had a small Jacuzzi where his spare tire was, the previous owner drilled holes in the floor to secure a CD-changer, and after he removed it never sealed the holes so water came in the car while driving.
But often it's the hatch seals that start to leak.

I'm going to follow this thread very closely. I just made a trip 2 weeks ago to Disneyland and my poor passengers sitting in the back wetted their ass.

I knew this was a problem in my car for a while, but I hardly drive anyone else other than my g/f.

If you figure out the solution, let me know. I've been scratching my head for a while about this problem.

I cant even tell you guys how much this problem used to haunt me...well maybe more my passengers than me. I used to give my buddies a ride to school back in the day when I was in highschool and we would get out of my car and all of the sudden the person sitting in the back would be like WTF dude.

I think the place that I found my leak was in the seal between the rear hatch and the roof if Im not mistaken.

it kinda stopped and i was like wtf? :wtf:
but my trunk still has the occasional wet problem i dont get a pool where the spare is at but i do notice that it gets more wet there than anywhere else.

lol the exact response I'd get with them holding there wet ass. :chuckles:
i didn't mind when it happened to girls :naughty:

I had this problem i found the water was getting through the back window and dripping down behind the plastic in the rear seat i sealed it up and its been fine ever since.. its kind of hard to explain and ill try and get pics of what i mean

Yes, My red celica had this problem. I found water dripping from my back window. I didn't source where the water was coming from tho.
