at what? their brochure showing it has bigger displacement and more hp, but when it comes down to real numbers on the dyno and track, there are an overwelming amount of high hp and fast 1/4 evos compared to the subarus.

at least Subaru DROPPED 50 lbs (100 lbs in the hatch) from their new

0-60 in 5 and 1/4 mile in 13.8 is identical to a stock Legacy GT

and I know which I'd choose under those circumstances . . . .

stock for stock, the 2.0L EVO IX actually makes more power on the dyno than the 2.5L WRX STI

if you can get your hands on an unmolested IX, now would be the time.

Evo isn't known for its straight line speed, same goes with the STi. It carries a name in rallying and the circuit. So having a non-impressive 0-60 time doesn't mean the car should drive off the cliff. What I'm curious about is whether or not it can regain the Evo name in the WRC. When was the last time anyone seen or heard about an Evo winning a manufacturers championship?? Back when Tommi Makinen was in his prime? That's almost a decade ago!

I laught at all the fools on Evolutionm who were saying just trust mitsubishi, this Evo will be better then the IX, the Evo always "Evolves" into a better car each generation.

uh, the EVO has ALWAYS been known for its straight line speed (and its basic all-around awesome functionality which includes crazy brakes and astonishing handling). The 4G63 was probably the greatest 2.0L engine ever made.

I would agree. People call me crazy for saying it wouldn't surprise me to see those IX's at Barret Jackson one day. When you look at price and performance numbers though I fail to see why that's so unrealistic.

I plan on keeping mine for a long time. I think the IX is the "gem" of the Evo lineup (not counting the 6.5 which is stupid rare esp. in the US).

If you want a car that will be at barret jackson one day, its an STi limited. More HP, classier (black brembos, no wing) and very rare.

these numbers are pretty weaksauce. People are getting their checkbooks out for a 35k ubercar that runs 14's when I'm running low 13's with a stock turbo lesser model wrx with just EM and exhaust?
