Has anyone done any research on the possibility of swapping the Evora 3.5 V6 (2GR-FE) in the Celica? I would imagine the Evora engine compartment is not much bigger than a Celicas. Just some nuance ideas.

I personally know the owners of 2 2gr swapped mk2 MR2, for them it makes a lot more sense. The 3sgte weighs significantly more and produces less power. With the 2gr, it's lighter and because of the lower compression, you dont even need to put premium fuel in.

but for the celica I think it'd be too much weight for the front end.

on another note, the 2gr is probably more accessible from venzas, rx350s, and camrys rather than trying to source an evora engine.

agree with the front weight issue. We already have a 63/37 weight distribution, and I cant imagine that even making it rwd would manage any better than 60/40 which is atrocious for a rwd car. If a drift car is what you want maybe it'd be an interesting experiment but as a daily or any type of road racer it will have only remnants of handling.
