I'm banking on at least 220whp for the best all motor 2ZZs. The K20 is simply a newer, better engine design.

there is no ****ing comparison here.

The 2zz has yet to break a documented, real 200 whp NA

The K20 consistently puts down 270 whp NA, 300+ with ITBs

Hell, most of the Civic guys are seeing 220 whp with bolt ons and FlashPRO.
Manny (on here) from Montreal went past 200 N/A and moving up. Toyota engines are just not mod friendly, then again we are comparing 1.8L vs a 2.0L

If Chris' 2ZZ was able to make 190 whp on a conservative tune, on a hot day, on a bonestock motor, with a bonestock header, with a Kazuma, DD manifold and intake, I have no doubt that a fully built 2ZZ will see 220+ whp.

nobody has a doubt - my point is nobody has actually done it.

Meanwhile you have D16s (Yes, D SERIES MOTORS) from Honda that have made over 200 whp NA.
 
I know you don't doubt that it will be done, my post was directed towards Memphis' "....maybe".

there are guys putting down over 200+whp now in the xrs. they are making progress. i still think its a waste of time in my book.
 
That is with the 2.0 block. Yes, 250-270 whp with the 2.0L block, bolt ons, tune, and cams. 220 whp with bolt ons and tune. 200 whp with bolt ons. 2.0L block (in case you forgot).

Guys are seeing over 300 whp with the 2.4L block.

naturally aspirated.

FWIW though and getting back on topic to the thread, there are still far too few built N/Z 2zz's out there at the moment...BUT we now have a good few over the 200whp unicorn that so many doubted.

This year through various people on NC.org I can think of 5 that are above 200whp. A couple even made it above 210. Sleepless2zz lotus made awesome numbers on a roasting hot day in Texas.

It's possible to get very respectable power from these motors, but yes you DO need to throw the book at them and you do need some luck along the way too (but then doesn't everyone? :shrugs: )
 
Im interested. How does the 6spd tranny for the k20 compare to the C60? Are those guys running 250-270 even 300 whp k20s running stock trannies (aftermarket clutch obviously)?

The 06 Si's had a 2nd & 3rd gear issue. But other than that its a better transmission.

Oh and T3h 2zZ CaN NevAr LoSe!!!!!11!!111
