About to order my extreme drop kit with swift springs in the next week or so

 

I'd love to, I hear good things. Maybe next year...

 

Whats so special about the swift springs? Do they come in different spring rates or something?

 

different rates, different lengths so you can lower the car more without adjusting the suspension preload. They are pretty much made to order

 

Not exactly. They're a lighter material and react faster than standard spring steel. Unsprung weight plays a big role in suspension performance as well as a faster spring time, it's a win win.

 

Thanks for clearing that up. I would think the difference in weight between the two spring material would make too much of a difference unless your on the track though.

 

I hear there's a noticeable difference in ride quality even on the street, smoother.

 

Sorry for such a noob question, but if I already have BC coils, would it be possible to swap in the extreme drop shocks ? If they're even available for separate orders.

 

does anyone have pictures of the extreme drop kit installed at a normal or high ride height setting?



I don't see why not but I believe you would be swapping the dampers all around which could be pricey. maybe you could just sell yours and get a new set.

What was wrong with the D2s?

 

top lowered d2's and bottom are stock out the box bc's. only the front since i still have the rears in the box actually but i love my bc's over the d2's

looks great in both pics. is it possible to raise the height with the BCs or is the OE setting the highest it can go? I currently have d2 but was considering the BC coil overs for their shorter stroke. Comparing the prices and ride heights I would assume that D2 would be a bit better for a more functional ride height.

 

Hey guys i installed my coilovers today...have em at stockish height and full soft for break in. Just got 1 question(yes it may sound stupid give me a break)....there are 3 thing on the shock body you can adjust..i know the lower one is the locking one and the middle is for preload and the top is for adjusting..correct.

You shouldnt adjust the height by using the middle adjuster correct?

Alright guys today I re did the preload on all 4 coils overs and raised the car back to stock height so i can fit the rims il be putting on soon. so far for break in iv done 100 miles on full soft(very comfy) and i just switched it over to full stiff and my god the road is filled with in perfections haha. if all goes as planned il have my car lowered on my new rims by wednesday. and il be sure to post a pic.

quick question what spring rate will you have to get in order to be slammed to the frame? for bc or d2 ?

 

BC's and D2's won't drop you frame to ground. The valving and springs won't allow it. If you want to go low, Ksports and take out the middle perch.

 

That is all wrong. Spring rates and valving don't matter since that can all be adjusted. My BCs put my exhaust on the ground. Now that is after some modifications but that is true of any coil over you buy. All of the coil overs will pretty much drop you the same amount.

 

my car is parked for the next month or so and today i decided to see just how long i can get the rear of the car since i never maxed it, but like kahuna said, my piping for my fartcan exhaust is sitting on the level ground.
coils can get you low if you know how to adjust them to your needs

 

All coils can go low in the rear. It's the fronts that need springs/valving if you want to go slammed and be even with the rear.

 

eh i want to tuck tire on my 18's when i get them i guess i'll have to modify the coils, was hoping i didn't have to since i don't want SUPER low, but meh

So you're saying that I can buy the BC coilovers and if you ask for the extreme drop kit it doesn't cost anymore than the normal ones?
