Background: 2 year old/10,000 mile Southbend SS TZ kevlar clutch and fidanza flywheel on turbo GT with 6 speed transmission.
6 speed blew, probably due to hard launches and nasty wheel hop, so I recently replaced it with another c60.
Well before the trans blew I had noticed some minor clutch chatter and a pretty loud rattle in low to mid rpm's, I had attributed it to a death rattle from the transmission.
New trans is on and now I'm getting 10 times worse clutch chatter, it really is quite loud and constant except when depressing the clutch pedal, and still getting the rattle at certain rpm's apparently coming from the transmision area.
Now here's the part that was dumb on my part, when I had the trans off I took a look at the clutch friction disc and noticed that all the springs were loose, for some reason (I'm blaming the flu I was suffering from at the time) I just stuck the trans back on without inspecting further or asking anyone if it was normal.
Is all the clutch chatter coming from the loose springs, is it going to get better once everything settles into each other or do I have another problem?
I would hate to have to get another clutch especially since Southbend is already giving me attitude.
