It is nice to see how oil change affect the performance.
1. How often do you change oil ( time interval and milage??
2. What type of oil ( synthetic or dino, viscocity, Brand)?
3. Type of oil filter?
4. Year, GTS or GT?
5. Drive condition (normal, severe, racing)?
6. Performance before and after oil change.
My Celica:
1. 4 months/4000 miles
2. Mobil 1 synthetic, 5W30
3. Purolator one plus. Larger size.
4. 2000 GTS
5. most short trips less than 10 miles
6. Before oil change: Slightly poor acceleration/shift.
After oil change: Feel a little better. (Not 100% sure)
Most Celican owners complaint that it is pain to remove the engine plastic cover, mess the rivets and go under the car to change the oil.
After doing some research on the web, my goal is to find a consensus to the best economical ( benefit / cost) and painless way to keep the engine on the top condition. Sharing experience on different types of oil change, oil types, tools, oil sample analysis at different milages, driving performance relate to different types of oil and changing interval will be very helpful to reach this goal.
