I don't recommend painting the knob. in the long run, you'll just wish you bought a new one. Also, i don't recommend getting the knob that require the alanwrench screws, INVEST in getting the threaded knobs. They'll cost around $40, but it's definitely worth it.

yea, just buy a new shift knob that's threaded. fits on a lot nicer.

Paint the shift knob? It's under a lot of wear and tear from when you shift; painting is not a good way to go.

Threaded shift knobs are those that screw onto the shift rod. Allenscrew shift knobs are pretty lame.

You don't have to remove the bumper off entirely, but it is much more easier this way.

[EDIT] Removing the bumper to get to the headlights is a preferred method when installing HID bulbs. Seating them correctly is much more managable than working in a cramped small with the headlights and bumper mounted.

I see, I mistook the screw-like object for a allen screw.

 

so painting it is a no go? cuz the blue paint it came with is already chipping and i dont wana repaint it blue because i got a blk n yellow motif going on now

 

Well if the original paint chipped, wouldn't the new paint chip off as well? Anywho, you should just repaint it. See if it was just the shoddy paint job that caused it to chip.
