Well,

The 4600MP that I ordered from overstock was DOA. Re-wired the whole car and bypassed the amp, only to find out that the HU was dead!? I contacted them and they are replacing it with a P6600 for 20 dollars more with a 2 year extended warranty! Awesome service. Anyone have this headunit? I read alot of good things, but just wanted to know if any of you have it.

The higher end Premier have better outputs and DACs. As my 860mp has 6.5volt outputs and 24bit Burr-Brown DAC as most othere decks have only 4 volts max and are 16bit. Most people will never be able to hear the difference betwqeen a 16 and a 24 bit, but I'm REAL picky about my sound. I spend hours and hours just setting up my sub levels not to mention the hours setting up the eq.

Premier is way overrated. I just bought a Pioneer DVH-P5000MP - MSRP is $700 and I picked it up wholesale from a warehouse around here for $450.

I asked the guys in the warehouse about Premier. They said they dont carry it because its not that popular. They say its basically a Pioneer deck thats re-branded and they add a bigger warranty and charge $30 extra. In another year, the Premier deck will be a Pioneer so they dont have to make new molds for the faceplate (which costs alot). I read some of the Premier's have better outputs tho.

Yeah, I saw that. I don't rip any songs to mp3 format for play. All of my stuff is in raw audio format so I don't lose quality, so that didn't bother me too much. Thanks for the heads up though.

UNderstood. Im not a huge audio nut though, so I'm not to worried about amps and stuff.
