i was wondering what was the best hp mod you can do to a celica gts that would cost you the least amt of time and money!any suggestions?
this is one of the things i did when i just got my car and a crx with a jackson charger wanted a one shot for 500 bucks.
i removed the air filter, removed the toyota emblem in the bumper,
removed the black plastic panel that is infront of the air box mouth, block both sides of the hole(mini scoop)in the bumper with ac pipe foam covering, also put a piece of foam on the right hand side of the intake box opening(left side facing forward) to prevent any air from rushing past the air box entrance. with both sides of the scoop blocked the air rushing into the scoop has no place to go but up! right into the mouth of the intake box! did i feel a diffrence? hell yes! its like my cai.surprisingly,i noticed that air coming from the mini scoop in the bumper was not the only source of cold air,but the actuall air from the opening in the bumper would find its way up there past an opening between the ac condensor and the inner bumper! i found that out by blowing air through the bumper with a indutrial fan (to simulate the car moving forward) and feeling for air with my hand. for a few minutes i think its worth it esp if you have a one shot, but wont recomend driving with filter out because of dust and debris getting into the intake track.by the way i bought a nx nitro kit with the 500 bucks!

The best free power mod has always been remove your air filter and unbolt your exhaust. Should only be done at the track though.
you'll gain about .1 from doin just that. If the track lets you remove the muffler completely this will save you weight also and you should gain about .15 at least thats what we saw when I did it to my car.
