Why do you ask me the same questions 100 times?

Read this: http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=243977

Boosted2.0 is basing his safe range of power values on whp for a MT car.

Now consider this:

295 bhp * .85 (est. MT losses) = 250.75 whp

295 bhp * .75 (est. AT losses) = 221.25 whp

I cracked a ringland around somewhere between 215 - 220 whp, stock motor, AT. No evidence of knock, just a broken piston.

Now decide on what you feel is a safe margin of error with your car and do as you like.

Exactly, have you seen the stock rods, they are really stout. There was a post on here comparing the 1ZZ, 2ZZ and Crower 2ZZ rods side by side. Did you see that a few years ago?

^ pistons only... really... the stock 2zz rods have yet to fail due to power. most people upgrade them when they do the pistons just because they opened the motor already.
