Anyone here installed their E153 transmission kit yet? Mine arrived this morning and should be installing it this weekend. Any tips on the installation post below!

I'm really hoping you can help me complete this "kit" I got from Smaay

I have the MR2 axle shafts but they have the wrong outer CV joints on them.

I have no trans shift linkage on the trans. Do I use the OE linkage from the OE trans?

I also have no RH axle support/carrier that bolts to the block.

MWR tried to sell me their install kit for $2900.

Any help is very appreciated!!

Send me an email for details. It could be an assembly issue but I'll help you get it figured out regardless. We've got at over a dozen customer cars confirmed on the road now and only two reports of shifter shaft clearance issues. The other one was solved pretty easily.

Interesting choice with the twin plate clutch. The off the shelf ACT's will hold more torque than any 2zz will make. Were you able to get the slave cylinder and clutch release to work properly?

That's another Celica and now another Elise up and running with the kit. Everyone seems to really like the more substantial (solid) feel of shifting this bigger transmission. No other reports of interference with the shift lever mechanism so we're checking in to it but we've test fit the units that remain in stock here at the shop with perfect alignment on all of them.

Spoke to Parano today, as he was installing his kit this week and he told me that it seems like there is a problem with the starter part. apparently you have to drill a new hole to install the starter mount, as there is a problem with the shifter shaft... mwr made a custom cut on the shaft to put the new shifter weight...but with the kit the cut is not at the right place...so you cant shift therefore it this part needs to be modified. Anyone else with this problem?

Looks like a mislabeled outer box from our suppler. No excuse, we should have caught it. We're of course sending a replacement by UPS Express service today at no cost.

I have confirmed with all of the other customers from the first batch that their flywheels are correct. 5 had already bolted them up and reported that fitment was perfect.
