A factory TRD bumper is made from plastic (ABS). Standard Bondo won't stick all that well and will flake after a while. I would try something like a two-part epoxy.

There are two methods at which you can go about this. First, you can just fill in the gap completely with the epoxy and sand it down and call it a day. The second is a bit more involved, but I recommend it a bit more to get a uniform curve and to not use as much epoxy. You can cut out the indention and make it a flat panel and use epoxy around the rim to re-attach it to the hole that's left behind by essentially pushing the panel outwards to make it as flush as possible. Once cured, sand the epoxy down and do as you will with paint. I would reinforced it with a bit more epoxy in the back of the bumper in a shoelace-pattern for rigidity.

Make sure you sand the surface with something between 40 grit to 100 grit before applying epoxy for good adhesion.

:wiggle:-My bodyshop did an amazing job on mine!
They cut a piece of ABS plastic from something and slapped it behind the license plate hole.
Then the covered, filled in and shaped it with a special kind of material that's very similar to ABS plastic.
I was amazed by their work and my idea became a reality. :D

Thanks. It was part of the deal when I got my car re-painted and all kinds of things added to it. So I'm not exactly sure how much that certain work was.

JesseIL did this 1000 years ago
On what car? Cause the CELICA came out 13yrs ago. :gap:

That's not the case for the TRD front bumpers. Look closely:

i want to get that spaced filled so i can have a hide away license plate holder so my bumper doesn't look stupid when i have my plate hidden.
-Niiice! Good luck with that!

Surprisingly enough, I've been without a front license plate for over 2 years now and no problems with the cops so far. But maybe it's because I don't race everyone and their grandmother in their minivans over here, so I don't really give them any reasons to pull me over :shrugs:

*knock on wood, though... just in case*
Agreed! *Knock On Wood* :hide:
I've had my window tint since 2003 and I just got a fix it ticket for them last yr.
So it's not the COPS you should worry about, it's the random d*ckhead officers that's gonna give you a problem. :(

Don't spend all that money and go through the work... Go to a parts store or the hardware store and buy some plastic push plugs... You can leave them black or have them painted, that's what I did.

-Thank you!
The front plate is custom and I'm sorry to know you had to drill into your bumper. :(

Joey, it looks like you don't have the grill which is lame.

What grill are you talking about?
Cause my TRD front and rear bumper is fully grilled out! :bling:

Sorry, I dunno how it's bolted on cause I got mine installed at my friends shop.
I do know for sure it's not bolted to the front bumper tho.-Good luck!

^ I'll call my Bodyshop tomorrow and ask where they installed it.
I know they made a custom bracket for it. :eatpop:
