1zz oil pan onto 2zz

Right well im looking into modifying a 1zz oil pan to fit a 2zz.

I just want some insurance for the track day coming up

I thought about buying the moroso yes but my car is not a car that came with a 2zz so clearance with pan could be an issue and again with clearance from the road so 1zz oil pan would be best for me

only the bolt pattern is the same. internally different.

Not true. the windage tray on the 1zz pan needs to be cut to fit the 2zz pickup

not really. oil starvation was caused from over boring the cylinders and compensating with larger rings. So over time, more miles, the rings would wear and then blow by caused the oil burning to starve the engine

This thread is going off coarse i know there the same size and fits but i want opinions on fitting a baffled 1zz oil pan to a 2zz

There is nothing to modify. Just bolt it up. What's there to really discuss on fitment?

the dimensions of the pans are the same. however the 1ZZ pan has a windage tray built in it. its NOT a baffle.

Ah yes moroso is the best designed but then you pay for what you get, if my car was full time attack car i wouldnt consider anything else but as this is my road car which with see a track 2-3 times a year i think this could work well

Moroso is also nice for the extra capacity not just the baffles. You can have baffles welded into your stock 2zz pan. I have a spare i can sell you and have to play with

Ah yea ino i can baffle stock pan ah ill see what happens if a cheap 1zz pans come up ill just whip it on

Ebay usually has stock 1zz pans for very cheap. I would check there and get a nice pair of tin snips or an angle grinder to cut it out

You may also be interested in the spacers to increase oil pickup depth. I think it's cheap and effective if you track your car.

You'll have fun. But I think heat will be a bigger issue for the GTS on the track. Ask punkerz. He has a GTS for track duty. My GT with stock 1zz has been bullet proof on the track.

if i run the 1zz pan, do i remove the stock windage tray off the bottom of the 2zz?

I'm inclined to say you keep it, it's also designed to keep oil splash away from the crank in abrupt transient maneuvers that would toss some of the oil in the pan up.
