well i was hoping to get some reviews and info together for future references about tires. i'd post in wheel/tire forum but i want to get socal based opinion since we don't have to deal with snow and other crappy weather. just post tires you've driven on and your review, also a tire you might like to try.
driven on:
Falken Azenis RT 215: Best tire i've driven on to this date, super strong side walls, with superb grip. they did tend to get greasy after hard runs on a hot day though. done autoX and road race and they held up fine, even lasted longer than a year. treadlife was great.
Yokohama ES100: By far worst tire, i just bought these cause everyone else had em (hear-say i guess) but man they sucked, understeered everytime, wore easily and didn't have much grip at all. good tire at first but sucked after about half way. worst thing about them is the sidewall. But to be fair i think my suspension is part of that problem with these softer tires.
Bridgestone S03 poleposition: these are the closest i've come to matching the azenis. great tires, they held great int he dry, surprisingly oversteers at the limit, and are quite predictable. good sidewall, stiff but still comfortable. what impressed me most was wet performance, I went crazy once and let loose, these performed like it was dry, only my braking was compromised and not by much. i was wowed. dry-wise azenis is slightly better, but overall in dry/wet these take the gold.
next tires i'd like to try: Toyo RA1 and BFG KD
